Each time a work day is held we do the following: a) send out a workday flyer reminder to approximately 400 individuals in the community, b) place a reminder notice in the local newspaper, and c) put up signs in the neighborhood inviting everyone to come and participate.
Each time we have several efforts being worked on in the Garden simultaneously – depending upon attendance. They include but are not limited to: 1) the removal of invasive non-native plants – in keeping with the Georgia Native Plant Society guidelines, 2) removal of trash and litter, 3) the clearing of the creek in the Garden to maintain the watershed and minimalize the erosion effects 4) chipping up all of the native materials we remove and recycling them by using the material to form walkways in the Garden.
